28 hours to go…

That is all the time left before the world ends… official… OK, so that was a lie, but it is true that 28 hours is all that is left until the new Formula One season starts. I am on a bit of a high at the moment in anticipation, been looking forward to this season for some time now as its likely to be more of an even playing field. With McLaren leading the way at the moment, the new car is much improved over last year’s car, as is the Williams, BAR are lagging behind a little, but the acid test comes when the red lights go out on Sunday afternoon (3am UK time). I really hope that Ferrari aren’t sandbagging and really are at the same pace or even slower than the rest of the top teams. I really don’t want to see another Ferrari season whitewash as happened last season, as I can see my interest dissipating after only a few races if that happens. Mark Webber has been disappointing as far in the Williams being soundly outpaced by team-mate Nick Heidfeld by 1.4 seconds if the latest free practice times are anything to go by, but the race is completely different!

Also in sport, it’s another acid test for Plymouth Argyle who are playing away at Pride Park against Derby County, which should be a tough one as Derby are flying high in the league, chasing a promotion spot, so they really wont want to drop points at home to a side that is 15 places below them, but of course I want them to lose, being a Plymouth supporter. I think that at least a draw is needed for Argyle, both from a staying up and morale point of view, don’t want to lose the current morale from the last two wins. And if they could pull off a shock win, that could elevate the Pilgrims up to 16th, if the three teams immediately above lose, lets hope they do!!! Not that I am biased at all, honest!
