How? Why? I don’t understand!

After the excellent start to the second test in the Ashes series England have had a catastrophic collapse in their second innings being bowled out for 129 runs on the final day. I thought the game was destined for a draw after the third day, but England blew it rather than the Aussies taking the match! Australia only had a run chase of 168 to win, which the Aussies did easily in 33 overs. England coach Duncan Fletcher refused to blame his batsmen for the loss, what the hell is the guy on? It’s blatantly the batsmen fault, they played awful, when the highest scores of the innings was 34 (Strauss) and 26 (Bell) it puts it into context with Pietersen and Flintoff giving their wickets away cheaply playing poor shots. Harmison did bugger all again, not taking a single wicket in the test, changes need to happen for the next test, bring in Monty Panesar, I reckon that Panesar and Hoggard would make an excellent bowling attack. England simply can’t afford to have out of form players in the squad, but you have to say that England face an uphill battle to retain the Ashes as Australia are now 2 – 0 up in the series, so England need to win at least two and draw the third to retain the Ashes, based on current form, there’s more chance of snow in hell!

Just to reiterate, alcohol is bad but it’s all so tempting, but the hangover in the morning isn’t so pleasant. I finished work quite early last night everything was packed away well before midnight, so I took advantage of the cheap beers, £1 per pint at staff rates, it’s only £1.50 per pint customer price on Sundays and Mondays, so if you are at a loose end on Mondays, come upstairs for some live music, see 3 or 4 bands, drink four pints and still have a quid change from £10, a cheap night out I would say, but I would recommend bringing some earplugs. Now that’s the promo out of the way, back to the subject, I’m taking no money tonight, I can’t have another heavy session, I’ll be on the cokes all night tonight, and getting home as soon as possible. Another reason I want to cut down on the drinking is that I will have earned £145 for three days work and I don’t have anything to show for it, except a hangover, I’ll be keeping the £40 that I earn tonight firmly in my pocket.
