Knock, Knock… Who’s There?

It’s the piracy enforcement police! Yes we had our Internet connection suspended because of downloading movies online. Of course I called them up and got it reinstated giving them the I’m a dumbass who doesn’t know how to secure a wireless network line. The stupid thing is that it was for downloading Hot Wheels for Conner which we don’t seem to be able to buy anywhere here in Wichita including second-hand. Obviously I knew exactly what I was doing having been around computers for many many years but I wasn’t going to let them know that. I still maintain the same argument, stop charging extortionate prices for DVD’s then maybe more people will buy the original DVD rather than download the movie. The prices of DVD’s here range from $20 – $25 and Blu-Ray disc cost $40 and above. I forgot all about how America allows for big business to screw over the little person. Basically Cox Internet has a three strikes and your out rule because the MPAA and RIAA put pressure on ISP’s to warn and suspend service of those downloading copyrighted files. In Europe the very same proposal is unlikely to become a reality as it’s an infringement of civil rights which doesn’t seem to exist here in the US of A!

Lewis Hamilton and McLaren are in serious trouble, this time for lying to stewards in Melbourne to gain an extra place by getting 3rd place finisher Jarno Trulli demoted to 12th after a 25 second penalty. The Italian was accused of overtaking Hamilton during a caution period but in reality Trulli had a small of track excursion during the safety car period allowing Hamilton through. Later Trulli just took back the place that was rightfully his after Hamilton slowed down to 15mph on team orders. Later in a stewards meeting, McLaren and/or Hamilton lied about what happened and Trulli got handed a 25 second penalty, promoting Hamilton to the podium. But when the FIA stewards listened to radio conversations between Hamilton and his McLaren team, it was blatantly obvious that McLaren lied to the stewards in Australia. The net result is that Jarno Trulli has been restored to 3rd and Hamilton has been stripped of the points he would have gotten for finishing fourth. I thought that Hamilton was better than that, letting his driving do the talking but it seems that he isn’t above cheating to gain positions after all.
