Is it that hard to win two games in a row?

On this Tuesday evening Plymouth Argyle have beaten Dagenham & Redbridge 2 – 1 at Home Park after losing the previous four games, three of which were at Home Park. The Pilgrims had to come from behind the win the tie but the scoreline flattered the visitors with their keeper making several fine saves off the line. Craig Noone levelled the score 17 minutes after the half time break with a superb individual effort and Rory Patterson put the Pilgrims in the lead in the 83rd minute after a sustained period of pressure. Plymouth didn’t have it easy; the visitors had several excellent shots blocked by Pilgrims defender Stephane Zubar. This win moves Argyle upto 15th in the league but still perilously close to the drop zone, another loss could mean a berth in the bottom four. At this point I have very little faith that Argyle can string a second win together, Peter Reid’s XI haven’t managed two wins on the trot in all competitions this season! I wish I could be more positive but I have seen nothing this term to be positive about, Argyle are looking more likely to be relegated than promoted, I hate to say that but that’s the way I see it!

We got the bad news last night that our Ford Focus has been written off by the insurance company as the car is beyond economical repair. Now we have to wait to see what sort of pay out we get from the other drivers insurance. We know that the car is worth $2,200 in June 2010, hopefully we’ll get a reasonable damages payout so we can at least afford a reasonable family car, something built in the last 10 years. I don’t want to end up with a 80s or 90s boat without all the safety features of more modern cars. If we are not satisfied with the settlement, we will be taking legal action against the insurance company and driver if necessary, especially given my wife’s injuries, she is at the chiropractor right now trying to get the injuries she sustained as a result of the shunt fixed, or at least to relieve the pain! At least today signals a milestone in my daughter Alya’s life, she has made it through her first 365 days, she is one year old today!
