A warning to potential buyers of Acer Aspire One netbooks!

I recently bought my wife a Acer Aspire One netbook; the specific model is AOD255E-2677 and after just two weeks of use; the screen has failed massively. This happened when my wife plugged in the power cord while lightly holding the corner of the screen to stop it moving when putting the plug into the power socket on the netbook. So if you are considering buying one of these netbooks; be very wary that they are very fragile; and can be broken with very minimal force. Luckily this one failed with the 15 days allowed to return an item at Walmart so we managed to get our money back and purchased the more expensive Acer Aspire 5552-3691 which is almost as good as my Asus A72F-X2 for $400 less, although mine has a 17.3in screen and Intel CPU. The netbook that got returned should never have been sold with Windows 7 Starter Edition as a system with only 1Gb of RAM is not capable of running the OS when other apps were installed; the OS requires 1GB of RAM for itself. After installing Skype, Microsoft Office 2007, AVG Free Edition and Firefox; the system was unusable so I installed Windows XP on the machine to make it useable, it shouldn’t take two minutes to load an application like it did on Windows 7 Starter on the Aspire One.
