Feeling Better

I am now feeling much more human like today, actually managed to get a good nights sleep for the first time in about a week, so hopefully that will be the end of it for this year. Although all this spending time indoors because of illness has increased my addiction to online gaming, playing a bit of Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike, and Day of Defeat, which I must say is suprisingly good, especially like the ‘domination’ type maps, where one team has to capture all 5 command points to win.

Things are generally looking up, starting with my team, Plymouth Argyle beating Bournemouth 2 – 0 [Story], while QPR could only manage a 3 – 3 draw with Notts County [Story], moving Plymouth 4 points clear of QPR and 6 points clear of Barnsley at the top of Division 2.

In technology, Microsoft have come up with a good idea for a change, using RAM latency to slow down the amount of spam sent out each day. It would work on the basis of the client/server delaying the time it takes to send one Email to 10 or more seconds, rather than the dozens it can send each second now. It’s not the ideal solution as legitimate businesses, who send out newsletters to users would also be punished, but the spam issue is now getting out of hand, so something needs to be done. [Story]
