!of the Championship, yes, that’s right campers, its my home team, Plymouth Argyle. The Pilgrims put up a decent performance, but were lucky to come away from Ninian Park with all three points after beating Cardiff by a solitary goal. Cardiff looked lacklustre in the first 45 minutes of the game, which allowed Argyle to score in the 24th minute, which in it self was a lucky goal as Stevie Crawford’s header got deflected off defender Lee Bullock into the back of the net, not a pretty goal, but we’ll take it. Cardiff played better the second half and was denied a penalty appeal when Graham Coughlan brought down Rob Earnshaw, and later had a headed goal disallowed for offside. So lady luck was on the side of Plymouth on the night, hopefully it will hold out for the rest of season, and lets savour being top of the championship, at least until 5pm today!
In other football news, every Liverpool fan’s worse fear was realised when Michael Owen defected to the Bernabeu for £8 million. Although the Michael’s move has been on the cards for a while since Gerrard Houllier was given his marching orders, Michael Owen clearly stated before Houllier left the club “if Gerrard Houllier goes, I will go too” or words to that effect. I am sad to see another quality player go off to Spain only to be ruined, look what happened to Beckham, he went over there a great player, and judging by his performance in the Euro championships, he is now at best, an adequate player!
In my own life, I went out on a mini DVD shopping spree, bought myself 4 DVDs for £36, not bad eh? I bought Resident Evil, Just Cause, The Sum Of All Fears and Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life. I thought it was about time I bought some new DVDs as I haven’t bought a DVD since Red Dwarf IV back in February, and I would have only spent the money on beer, so its probably a better choice to spend it something that lasts more than a night.
