Recently, especially today, I am getting the feeling that I am being pushed into something I don’t want to do, courtesy of Working Links. They keep on saying that they are different from the jobcentre, but I can’t see it myself, all they are is more polite in going about telling you what to do. At the moment I am being pushed towards agencies. For what I can see, agencies work mostly for people that want part-time or temporary work, not really a person like me that want full time, long-term employment. At the moment I feel like I am being sent back to school with no free choice, why would I have my own opinion eh? I don’t really understand what they want from me, I have applied for 4 jobs in the last 4 days, which is more than I am required to do by the Jobcentre. If this keeps up, I will ask to be referred back to the jobcentre. Although I have found out that I am currently not classed as unemployed as I am employed by Working Links, its just another way to make the jobcentre look good and appear to have hit their targets for the year, what is commonly known as seasonably adjusted figures. It’s not about getting people back into work, it comes down to politics and meeting targets, and people wonder why I hate all politicians.
In more positive news, Plymouth Argyle have gotten back to winning ways after their little hiccup in the last week, by beating Nottingham Forrest 3 – 2 at Home Park. David Norris converted Micky Evans cross to put Argyle into the lead after 26 minutes, which Graham Coughlan doubled with a headed goal after the 40th minute. Forrest came back strongly with Eoin Jess scoring twice, once just before half-time, then again, 10 minutes before the end. Argyle’s blushes were saved when Chris Doig brought down Keith Lasley in the area, which Paul Wotton slotted past the Forrest keeper. A good result for the Pilgrims if a little fortunate getting a penalty in injury time, but a win’s, a win, Argyle remain in 4th position in the league as Wigan beat Cardiff, and Stoke City beat Derby, but Argyle are only one good result from topping the table again, things are still looking good at the moment!
