On Tuesday night, Plymouth Argyle went Yeovil to play their Carling Cup tie against Yeovil Town, strangely enough as clear favourites to win the match. But that wasn’t to be, as Yeovil, who has a reputation of be giant killers in cup competitions, claimed another scalp as they beat Argyle 3 – 2. It was a bit of a bizarre match all round, Yeovil’s first goal was after an injury stoppage, when Yeovil’s Lee Johnson passed the ball back to Plymouth keeper Luke McCormick, but he was off his line and the ball rolled into the back of the net. Yeovil Town being the great sportsmen that they are, allowed Plymouth to equalise but not attempting to stop Steve Crawford from scoring. Paul Wotton then put the Pilgrims into the lead from the penalty spot, only to see the lead turned over buy two more goals from Lee Johnson from similarly placed free kicks. I find the whole thing amusing, especially as Argyle can beat ex premiership teams like Sunderland, but get beaten by a team two divisions below them. But on the night, Yeovil was the better team, so all credit to them!
Yesterday I went to the job interview as warehouse person that I mentioned the other day; I thought the interview went quite well, it all seemed quite positive, and the people there seemed very friendly and the job is simple enough, although assuming that I get the job, it will probably kill me for the first couple of weeks as I am used to sitting at a desk and not lugging boxes around, but I will get used to it, and hopefully get me back into shape again. I will probably be finding out one way or another tonight, as the manager is making his decision today, hopefully I will receive a call to say that I was successful. I have also applied for a job as a Hand Finisher for a mailing company, which is another simple job and less physically taxing, its packaging up small packages for dispatch, waiting upon a reply of whether I got an interview or not, so fingers crossed!
And finally! A cleaner in the Tate Modern Gallery has thrown away a piece of art by mistake, thinking that it was rubbish, which it actually was technically, it was a bin liner full of cardboard. The “art” was rescued, but was damaged, so the original “artist” replaced the bag with a new one. When I say “art” and “artist” I used those terms very lightly as I don’t really consider it art, although art in its very nature is subjective. [Full Story]
