Woo! and indeed! hoo!

I have got myself a job, not the most glamorous job, but it’s a job none-the-less, and the people working there seem really friendly. The official job title is Kitchen Porter, which basically means cleaning dishes and putting them back in the canteen. And its for a decent employer as well, Derrys department store, so the job will be safe until I find something more suited to my talents, but the hours are generally quite good, only 30 hours per week, and everything over that I am required to work will be paid at time and a half. I wasn’t too confident of getting the job, as I don’t really have any experience, but I was offered the job there and then, so I must have done something right. To say that I am pleased is an understatement, but at the same time I am nervous, as you would be starting a new job, and its un-chartered waters for me, but I am sure that I will pick it up quick enough, how hard can it be to wash, dry and replace dishes in the canteen? I start next Monday, I could have started sooner, but I need to sort out all my affairs before moving into employment, don’t want to be getting in trouble for benefit fraud now do I? That wont be a good start to my new job! I really need to sort out a bank account now, as my wages will be paid directly via BACS, which is part of the reason I said I’d start next Monday.
