General Slackness

Damn, I have been slack in updating this month, so best do a quick catch up, nothing much happened on Wednesday, so we’ll skip that one. Thursday night I went out to the Phoenix, watched yet another melodic rock night, which I enjoyed thoroughly, then afterwards, I decided I would go to a birthday party, which was a mistake, as I had work in the morning. Onto Friday then, and the aforementioned work, I was feeling like death warmed up all day, but it was of my own doing, so I cant complain about that. But what pissed me off was the way I was treated by the manager and ‘head’ porter. I was left on my own for three hours to cope with a relatively busy day, so ended up getting behind, there is only so much work I can do, I cant wash, dry and distribute everything myself, and the fact that I couldn’t move in the cleaning room because of the backlog of trolleys didn’t help matters. I was to the point of almost quitting the job, I really don’t need this shit. Later in the evening I went to the first No Comply gig on home soil for some time, although I really wasn’t up for it after the day I had, but I couldn’t miss this gig as it was going to be, and was huge. Today has been an OK sort of day, nothing special, and nothing bad either, everyone’s up to date now.

In sports related news, the FIA has decided that Jenson Button will have to stay at BAR for the 2005 season, which is nothing unexpected really, as it has been expected for some time that the decision will go the way of BAR. In a way I wish that Jenson did go to Williams and then Anthony Davidson would more than likely had his chance in a race seat, and we can see how he compared in a race situation, he has been promising in testing for BAR, but the question is, can he deliver when the pressure is on, I for one would like to find out! Also in Formula One, I see that the negotiations between the FIA, Brand Synergy and the BRDC, so Silverstone is now off the 2005 calendar again, this is becoming a joke. Even more bizarre is that Bernie Ecclestone is now going to sue Jackie Stewart of the BRDC for comments he made on BBC radio. It seems to me that it’s a battle between the two parties, saying, “My dick is bigger than yours”. I wish they would grow up and get on with it, the British Grand Prix belongs on the calendar, because 60% of the teams on the grid are British based!

Finally football, Plymouth Argyle have slumped to yet another defeat away at Sheffield United, they went down 2 – 1, Argyle were sunk late in the game with goals from Leigh Bromby in the 78th minute, and another 7 minutes later from Andy Gray. David Friio did get a late consolation goal for Argyle in the 87th minute, but Plymouth’s fate was already sealed and walk away from Bramall Lane without any points which drops Plymouth 4 places to 12th in the league. It seems that Plymouth cant get a run of results going at the moment, which is very frustrating for the team and the fans.
