Over the last few days, there have been rumblings of discontent among some of the employees at my work place, and for a change it doesn’t involve me, I have been reasonably happy in work. But quite a few staff members are not happy about the way they are being treated and spoken to by management. And rumours of official complaints and long standing staff members leaving the company are flying about. I have been on the receiving end of the two management/supervisors in question, who shall remain nameless, and frankly the way they speak to staff is really not on, and the management team needs to reassess their attitude, although today has been better, as it wont look good if several long standing staff members walk out together, it makes the day more interesting though!
Half-Life 2 then, well I have completed the game and feel a little empty really, after all the build up to the big final battle, it was rather dull and unfulfilling, a serious anti-climax. Also quite a lot of the game has been cut out by the looks of it, as none of the scenes shown at E3 were in the game, and the Havoc physics engine doesn’t seem as good as what was shown at E3. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good game, but didn’t live up to all the hype and promise. But the ending does leave it open for a Half-Life 3, in pretty much the same way as Half-Life left an open ending. I am just hoping that TFC: Source becomes a reality now, although I wouldn’t bet on it happening, some people say it is happening, others say its not, So I guess it’s a case of wait and see. According to the VU Games website, TF2 is due for release very soon, but what’s the point, its now a 5 year old game, it was due to come out late 1999, and it seems from the screenshots that it isn’t based on the Source engine either.
