Why O’ why cant Argyle string a few decent results together, they lost yet again at Home Park, this time it was 2 – 1 to league leaders Ipswich. The first goal was caused by a forced error on the part of Romain Larrieu, who brought down Darren Bent in the box, and Darren Currie converted the penalty. Plymouth held off Ipswich off until the 84th minute when Darren Currie doubled the lead from a Jim Magilton cross. Mickey Evans grabbed a consolation goal two minutes later, but that simply isn’t good enough. Argyle has an awful home record this season, in fact I think they have won more away games than home games. This loss means that Argyle drop another place to 17th and ever closer to the drop zone. It seems to me that Argyle is a shadow of the team they were last season, and simply cant cut it in the Championship. I think a lot of it comes down to the manager Bobby Williamson, who is nowhere near as inspirational as Paul Sturrock was. For all the money that has been spent out on players to supposedly improve the team has made things worst, at least from where I am sitting. I don’t hold out much hope of a win against Everton in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, if they cant beat teams in their own league, how can we expect them to beat a high flying premiership club. This season has been a major disappointment to me and many other fans, something drastic needs to be done to improve things in my opinion.
