Today is the first official day of my week off work, which is great, no more work for seven days, well six and half days now, and I started my week coming down with yet another cold, and my back is playing up again. Bloody typical, every time I take a holiday or have a day off, I seem to contract some sort of illness or generally feel like shit. Last night I went to the Phoenix to cover the rock n’ roll night there and even then I felt tired and rundown, but still couldn’t sleep until almost 5am, so ended up catching up with Star Trek Voyager. I don’t plan to do much for this week, going to use the week to relax and chill out, as well as completing the new Phoenix Live design, maybe even redesign this site if I get the chance!

At least the weekend just gone held some good news, Plymouth Argyle managed a spectacular 5 – 1 victory over Brighton. Nick Chadwick opened the scoring in the 8th minute, only to see his goal cancelled out by Charlie Oatway goal for Brighton 3 minutes later. On the 13th minute Paul Wotton firmly put his penalty miss last Saturday behind him, scoring from the spot on 13 minutes, putting the home team back into the lead, and scored again 8 minutes later to put the Pilgrims 3 – 1 up. David Norris added a 4th goal to the tally to take Argyle into half time with a 3 goal cushion. The score line stayed that way until the 88th minute when Scott Taylor finished off the game at short range completing the rout of Brighton. The Brighton manager wasn’t too happy with decisions made by the referee, but as an Argyle supporter, I am glad that a few decisions went our way for a change. Argyle has now climbed up to 16th in the table, behind Watford on goal difference. Here’s to a few more good wins before the end of the season, next match is away at Sunderland on the 15th, which will be a sterner test for the Pilgrims, but hopefully they can come away from the Stadium of Light with 3 points, but a draw with do nicely!
