Let’s start with football then, my team has had another disappointing home result, against fellow strugglers Cardiff City. It was a game that Plymouth needed to win really, as they need to win all their home games to assure survival this season, but only managed a 1 – 1 draw with the Welsh team. But I suppose that one point is better than no points, but it really is a case of two points dropped. All this makes their next game against Watford, again at home on Tuesday more important then ever, Argyle really need to win this game as there is only seven league games left this season, and three of those games are away from home. If Plymouth do lose to Watford on Tuesday, it could mean that Plymouth could slip deep into the relegation zone if other results don’t go their way, so its definitely a must win situation if Plymouth want to be playing Championship football next season!
In Formula One, Ferrari failed to score any points, with Michael Schumacher having a hydraulic failure in his car causing the gears to seize up, narrowly avoiding a collision with race leader and eventually winner Fernando Alonso. Second place was taken yet again by Jarno Trulli who finished some 13 seconds behind Alonso, Kimi Raikonnen finished a further 19 seconds down the road to take the final podium spot. Finishing off a good weekend for Toyota, Ralf Schumacher crossed the line in fourth position, followed by the second McLaren of Pedro De La Rosa in fifth, who was standing in for injured Juan Pablo Montoya. Mark Webber claimed sixth spot in the Williams, and the final two points paying positions were taken by Felipe Massa in his Sauber, and David Couthard brought his Red Bull Racing car home in eighth position, disposing the Ferrari of Rubens Barrichello on the last lap of the race. A good result for Couthard considering where he started on the grid, extending his run of points finishes this season, long may it continue is what I have to say!
