One week has passed since deciding to call it a day on my local live music activities and I have to say that I feel pretty good about things. After the initial withdrawal symptoms over last weekend, I haven’t really looked back, besides it’s not like I could go back anyway, as I have deleted the whole site, local and remote, and all the original photos (all 2.4GB of them). I needed to do that to stop me considering going back to it, all that remains of Phoenix Live is what Google has cached, but that will fade in the coming weeks and months. I burnt many bridges as well, probably upset a few people along the way, but I am doing it for myself, and not worrying about what others think for a change, and I am starting to enjoy a relatively normal life again! Yesterday afternoon I actually went up to the Plymouth Hoe with a friend and bought some fish and chips on the harbour side, and had a quiet drink, which doesn’t sound like much, but its something I haven’t done in ages and it felt pretty good! And I feel a lot better in myself for not drinking as much and especially not being exposed to really loud music, although I do like to plug in the headphones and crank the volume up with some Iron Maiden playing. I have even been thinking about taking up some nature and landscape photography, which should present a new challenge for me, and gets me out of the city and away from the stresses of life for a few hours!
