Familiar Territory!

It’s Saturday, it’s match day, and Plymouth have lost at home yet again, and yet again I fail to understand why this is happening. On paper, Plymouth has one of the best team line ups in the Championship, and really shouldn’t be losing home games so often. This time the deficit was two goals to nil in favour of the visitors. 14,279 fans witnessed the humiliating defeat, both goals were scored in the first half, and at that point Plymouth never looked like they were going to come back from 2 – 0 down, Bojan Djordic squandered a gimme by heading wide of the goal, and Micky Evans also went close to scoring, but close isn’t good enough. Suppose I best start calling for the resignation of the manager early this season as he clearly hasn’t got the respect of the players, they clearly have no faith in his management skills, I think that he needs to start delivering results before the mid point of the season, or else he will have to walk. I feel that Plymouth needs a home town manager, someone with the passion for Argyle to succeed! I am not expecting miracle results or getting promoted to the Premiership this season, but winning home games is expected, and certainly not throwing away a 3 – 1 lead that they had on Tuesday at Home Park!

In Formula One, Bernie Ecclestone is up to his old tricks by applying to trademark the name ‘GP1’ which in my opinion is to try and stifle and scupper the proposed breakaway Grand Prix World Championship. It is thought that the breakaway series could use the name ‘GP1’. I am actually quite interested in the proposed GPWC series as Formula One is frankly becoming boring, there is no real racing anymore, too many restrictions; so that Formula One isn’t Formula One anymore, it has become almost pedestrian compared to the early 90s when Mansell, Piquet and Senna were battling it out on the track. My hope is that the GPWC will bring back proper racing and get rid of all this technical computerised bullshit and make it about man and machine, and nothing else, but I do wonder how many of these younger drivers will be able to cope without the electronics, but if it turns the grid on it’s head, that’s a good thing in my opinion; and the sooner it happens the better!
