Plymouth Argyle has lost at Home Park again, 1 – 0 to the visitors, Hull, much to the disappointment of the 12,000 people in attendance at Home Park and the many armchair fans like myself. Despite the mid week 2 – 1 win over Peterborough in the Carling Cup, which realistically shouldn’t even be our objective this season, we should be trying to do better than last seasons performance which wasn’t good to say the least; the only saving grace for the Pilgrims last season was the fact that we have a good start to the Championship campaign, fighting for top honours at this time of the season last year. That alone kept us out of the drop zone at the end of the season, JUST!!! But this seasons opening games haven’t been remotely good, one win from five games, and three of those matches were at home, the one win was away at Reading, and we were lucky to come away with three points from that fixture! Bobby Williamson simply has to go, he has spent a bucket load of money on players, both this season and last season, and he simply hasn’t delivered. On paper, Plymouth has a very strong team that should be fighting for a top 10 position in the league, not languishing in 20th position, dangerously close to the relegation zone. OK, I know that its early in the season, but unless the teams performance is upped considerably, the gap between Plymouth and the top teams will become insurmountable, and we will be struggling to survive yet again come next May, which isn’t where we should be. Maybe I should become a glory hunter and support ManUre, Chelski, or ARSEnal!
