As nothing terribly interesting has happened in the last 24 hours, I am going to post some useful information for users of ‘not quite legal’ versions of Windows XP. If you have tried to use Windows Update in the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed that you have to authenticate your copy of Windows with Microshite using their “Genuine Advantage” system. Of course, no matter what Microshite try to do; there will be people who will find a way to bypass such security measures, and it was cracked within an impressive 24 hours, nice one guys; whoever you are! Anyway, to bypass the Active X bollocks simply paste; javascript:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck=’all’) into the address bar of Internet Explorer before pressing the ‘custom’ or express’ buttons, and hey presto, it works again, cheers to Mark for pointing this out to me, happy patching people!
