It’s about bloody time

Paul Stapleton has finally seen sense and pushed that useless Scot, Bobby Williamson from his perch and sent him packing. Williamson never proved his pedigree in the English leagues, on paper he got the credit for getting Plymouth promoted to Division 1 as it was at the time, but he had nothing to do with it, he just inherited what Paul Sturrock had built up and then proceeded to systematically destroy it. Plymouth coach Jocky Scott [who was brought to the club by Williamson] has taken over temporary charge until a permanent replacement can be found, lets face it, whoever gets the position cant do any worse than Williamson. I really hope that this turns Argyle’s fortunes around this season as things are looking very perilous at the moment, sitting in 21st position in the league; 11 points off the league leaders with only 6 games played. We desperately need to win our home games at the minimum, and aim for a draw away from home, and maybe an occasional away win!

This news has cheered me up immensely from yesterday’s depressions, although I did go out and get quite drunk, although I was reasonably sensible, only had 8 pints. I probably would have left earlier, but every time I thought about leaving, someone I knew came into Voodoo Lounge, and I got chatting to them, even ran into my brother in there, something I never expected as I didn’t think it would be his scene. Anyway the post on the blog yesterday was partially tongue n’ cheek, I am not suicidal yet, just feel like I am stuck in a rut at the moment, and alcohol makes the blandness of my life go away for a few hours. At least one thing came out of this, I managed to get a good nights sleep, I got home about 3am, and went to straight to bed, and didn’t wake up again until 11:30am [I love days off work] so managed 8 1/2 hours sleep, so I feel more refreshed than I have done for a week, and my illness doesn’t seem so bad today either, things don’t seem so bad today!

On Sunday evening I watched an episode of the MTV show ‘Pimp My Ride UK’ and couldn’t stop laughing my arse off; it’s not supposed to be funny, but it just is. To start Tim Westwood, trying to talk like a black man, which he clearly isn’t, trying to compete with American rapper and host of the stateside version, Xzibit. Secondly the car to be ‘pimped’ a London black cab with a huge V8 engine in it, the question is why? And the ‘pimpin’ team, all pretending to be from the west coast, but instead make arses of themselves on national television. I do the like American version mainly because them do some really cool stuff with the cars and the people are convincing and obviously have a passion for what they are doing, why do British companies try to rip off American shows like this, its not what us Brits do best, so why bother, another example of this is Fear Factor, the American version is good, but the UK version simply doesn’t work at all, right I shall leave it there!
