It’s been a long time coming!

But Plymouth Argyle have finally won a home game, although opponents and fellow strugglers Burnley had the better of the game, but it’s the score line that counts, and this time around it was 1 – 0 in favour of the Pilgrims. Mickey Evans was the hero of the hour netting the only goal of the game just after the half time break, when he got on the end of a Rufus Brevett cross. Romain Larrieu saw plenty of action in the Argyle goal as Burnley pushed forward, looking the more likely of the two teams to score in the second half, but the Plymouth defence stood tall and withstood the pressure, hopefully the defence will work better from now on, as until this match, the Argyle defence has been poor at best! The main downside to the game was the amount of bookings for the home team, five in total, seems that discipline is a problem in the Plymouth camp, something that needs to be addressed; we really don’t want players out on suspension when it comes to the crunch! But at least Argyle are out of the relegation zone, moving up 3 positions to 20th, lets hope we can continue this good form into the next few games to get into a respectable mid table spot!

In my own life; things have become a little more interesting, seems that I am not banned from C103, formerly JFK’s anymore. I was banned for life some 30 months ago for helping out behind the bar on my night off work, anyway that’s in the past now. So I went along to see what has changed and to be honest nothing has changed, it looks the same, and even the music is the same as two years ago, seems that its some sort of time warp effect in that place. I have to say that I am not very impressed and don’t see myself going along that often if at all as its not my scene anymore, too many posers and not enough real rock fans like it used to be back in the day! But the Phoenix is getting better, we have a load of new equipment in the house, a new 6,800 watt PA, new sound desk, and new outboard equipment, so everything is sounding much better, although we cant use the full power of the PA as the vibration of the new bass rig makes the glasses fall off the bar, which makes me wonder what’s the point of having that power if you cant use it, but I can see what I can do with the system next Wednesday as it will be my first night using the new equipment, so it’s going to be interesting trying to get the sound balanced if I cant use the low end output to balance out the cymbals coming off stage, there is no need to mic up the cymbals as they are more than loud enough and we need to push more low end to cancel out the cymbals!
