Maybe it was too much to ask!

Plymouth Argyle has lost their game against top of the table Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Neil Shipperley put the Blades ahead before the ten minute mark heading the ball past Romain Larrieu to put the home team 1 – 0 up. The game was killed off just before the 30 minute mark when Anthony Barness brought down Alan Quinn 20 yards from Larrieu’s goal; Quinn subsequently slotted the ball past Larrieu into the bottom left of the goal, putting the Blades 2 – 0. Argyle weren’t outplayed by any standard; Argyle put up a brave fight, but couldn’t find the back of the net, with Patrick Kenny denying Argyle on several occasions. Not the result I was hoping for, but I am not surprised by it either, I always knew that it was going to be a hard game, but the scoreline flattered the home team! This leaves Plymouth languishing in 23rd position in the Championship, although technically Argyle are in joint 20th position with Coventry, Crewe and Millwall! This result means that Plymouth really needs to win the two home games in the next couple of weeks; versus Stoke this Saturday, and bottom of the league Sheffield Wednesday two weeks after that. This result proves that Tony Pulis has a lot of work in front of him to get Plymouth into the sort of form that the team is capable of [at least on paper]. Plymouth needs to improve results quickly if they are to survive and avoid playing League One football next season!
