In Formula One is on his way out, Paul Stoddart is rumoured to be selling his cash-strapped Minardi team to Red Bull owner Dieter Mateschitz, who was known to want to run a second team in F1 to give all his contracted drivers a race seat. The deal could happen before the Belgium grand prix at Spa Francorchamps; if these rumours are true. Paul Stoddart hasn’t confirmed the deal officially yet, but I don’t see that he can afford not to take the deal really, he can’t afford to carry the team forever. But the reason I liked Paul Stoddart is because of his straight talking attitude, telling it like it is and causing all sorts of problems for Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone. And for the most part I have agreed with everything he has said in the past, the man talk’s sense, but I can understand why he wants out, but I hope that Red Bull keeps him on as team principle as Formula will become duller without Stoddart stirring the shit! Mateschitz is known to be a bit of an ass kisser when it comes to Mosley and Ecclestone, which pissed me off immensely, but I can’t dislike the guy as he rescued David Couthard from the Formula One scrapheap, and the Scot has grabbed it with both hands and made the most of it, in fact he has done better this season with a lesser team than he did last season with McLaren, read into that what you want!
In technology news, Sharman Networks, owner of the spyware ridden pile of shite, Kazaa Media Desktop has been told to tighten up its software to prevent ‘copyright infringement’ by an Australian court. Normally I am pro Peer 2 Peer networks; but Sharman Networks is pretty high up on my list of companies to hate. I hate them because of all this bollocks with Kazaa Lite, which was a hacked version of their software which removed all the spyware and adware that infested PCs around the world. Sharman Networks claimed that the makers of Kazaa Lite had infringed their copyright by altering their software, and a US court demanded that Kazza Lite was removed the Internet, and all references be removed from search engines. So this latest ruling is sweet justice in my opinion, personally I think that the owners and programmers of Kazaa Media Desktop should be thrown in jail for infringing peoples ‘digital’ privacy by spying on their web surfing habits and also criminal damage as the spyware once on the machine is almost impossible to remove without some very specific knowledge, and pretty much disables half the machine as this ‘adware’ is using a shit load of system resources most of the time. Wow, that turned into more of a rant than I intended, but well deserved I think. If you are using Kazaa still, I recommend you ditch them and get eMule instead, spyware free and has just as many files, and more users jumping ship, so the amount of [legal, of course] files available with increase!
