Guess its time for a roundup

Let’s start with some more work stuff; the damn dishwasher is still fucked, MKM are still waiting on the part to arrive from Italy. It was supposed to be fixed on Friday just gone, but didn’t happen, so it’s going to be next week as they don’t work weekends at MKM. The net result of all this is that we have to hand-wash everything, which is a pain in the arse as everything takes twice as long, the only saving grace is that it hasn’t been too busy over the last few days. Also the fact that Luke decided to go AWOL on Thursday and Friday made things even more awkward as one of the girls from the shop floor had to help out, which is better than nothing but they couldn’t keep up with my work rate, and I didn’t expect them to really as its their first time in the pot wash, but they tried their best, which is all I can ask really! Right that’s enough of that; onto my other work stuff, I did my first night back at the Phoenix since the new year on Thursday and everything went well on the night, from a sound point of view anyway, no-one actually turned up to the gig, so each band played to the other bands, and staff, which is a great shame as all three bands (Sweet Black Angels, Mary Jane, and Mendez) played brilliantly, especially Sweet Black Angels who covered Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols and a unique version of Drunken Sailor, I enjoyed it despite the lack of people; at least it gave me the opportunity to grab a SBA album!

Plymouth had another disappointing result in the Championship, only managing to take a point away from their home fixture against Norwich. Plymouth took the lead after 24 minutes when Norwich’s Simon Charlton bundled the ball into his own net. The score line stayed that way until the half time break, but soon after the interval Darren Huckerby levelled the scores, and it stayed that way until the end of the match despite both teams having multiple chances to take the lead. Suppose a point is better than nothing, but it’s definitely two points dropped, Plymouth need to win their home games if they are to avoid the drop this season. But there is some good news in football today, at least in my little world, Manchester City 3 – Manchester United 1, that result had made my whole week. Man City has had a bad run of results getting only a solitary point from six games over the festive period! And what a way to break their poor run, convincingly beating United, nice one!
