One hell of a way to announce your arrival!

New loan signing Vincent Pericard made an immediate impact in the Argyle squad scoring a hat trick in only his third game for the Pilgrims. The Frenchman’s first goal came in the thirteenth minute driving the ball past the Coventry keeper, his second came in the form of a stylish curling shot just before the half time break. His third came sixteen minutes from time when he latched onto a Tony Capaldi pass to put the result in no doubt. Coventry did pull a consolation goal back late in the game courtesy of former Chelsea and England legend Denis Wise. It didn’t go all Argyle’s way; Romain Larrieu had to make three excellent saves to deny Coventry. This rather convincing win moves Plymouth back up to 14th position in the league, level on points with Burnley, and just seven points off a top 8 position; I know that it’s a long way to go yet, but Plymouth’s recent good form has given me renewed hope, we are certainly in a much better position than we were just six weeks ago! Next match is away at strugglers Derby County, so hopefully the Pilgrims can grab all three points again, which could mean a leap of three places to 11th in the league, again assuming that other results go our way. I honestly believe that Argyle have got the talent to do well for the remainder of the season, lets hope we can keep the current crop of loan signings for next year as the team seems to be gelling well now, looking like a much more confident tighter unit than the team that manager Tony Pulis inherited from former manager Williamson.
