With all the talk of…

…a tie up between F1 new boys Dave Richard’s Pro-Drive and McLaren in 2008 when the new Concorde agreement starts and all the controversy about the subject, I have a suggestion: What needs to happen is Formula One needs to have a single chassis manufacturer and a single engine supplier, so all cars would be identical apart from setup changes, which would make F1 much more exciting and open as it would mean the best drivers win races, not the best car. Max Mosley has already taken a step in that direction imposing a ban on engine development once the season starts from next year, which will mean that teams with strong engines at the start of the season will run away with the championship as other teams wouldn’t be able to catch up through ongoing development work. I would like F1 to become more like the A1GP series, which is much more exciting to watch despite not having the same sort of power as F1 cars, there’s more overtaking, more wheel to wheel racing, and the best drivers tend to triumph, which is how motor racing should be, it should be about driving talent, not who’s got the best car on the grid! I would love to see Midland, Red Bull and Toyota competing on a level playing field with Renault, Ferrari and McLaren; it gets very tedious seeing Renault and Ferrari winning all the races, in fact I haven’t really been watching F1 recently as its so fucking boring to watch! I really think that if all cars were equal, then Michael Schumacher would be outclassed by both Alonso and Raikkonen; and of course I would love to see if Jenson Button could mix it with the big boys given the same equipment; but sadly I doubt it will ever happen!
