For the first time in ages I feel good about myself and the work I do; all the bands tonight came up to me and complimented me on the sound. Although I personally thought it wasn’t that great, but it never will be in my eyes, it could always be better, but its nice to hear it from other people though! And the bands I worked with were excellent as well, so a shout goes out to the guys and girls in RumbleFish and This Season, who were excellent performers as well as really nice people. I did get some stick from one member of Head of Programmes, but that was nothing, it’s like water off a duck’s back, but James did come up and apologise both personally to me and a public apology on stage as well. I can fully understand his frustration as he and his band stepped in at the last moment to find a sub-standard setup in-house, but that will be changing very soon! But I enjoyed the night immensely, it’s good to get back into the swing of engineering again, and when people say we hope to see you behind the desk again, it’s always nice and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside that people appreciate all the hard work I put into engineering the best sound I possibly can! I must also thank Phil who kept faith in my abilities and gave me a second bite at the engineering cherry, something that no other promoter or venue would do!
