Better news from Home Park!

Plymouth Argyle won the second of the double header at Home Park against a fighting Luton Town. The scoreline was only 1 – 0 to the Pilgrims, but it was a hard earned point as Luton threw everything they had at us, but it wasn’t enough to go down to their seventh straight defeat. It was that man who was put on the transfer list at the beginning of the season Bojan Djordjic who scored the only goal of the game converting a pinpoint Paul Connolly cross. Akos Buzsaky went close early in the game rattling the crossbar, and Luton narrowly missed in second half added time, but it wasn’t to be for the Bedfordshire team. Plymouth have moved back up to 9th in the league, but Stoke City also won, so remain three points ahead of the Pilgrims, but the gap is down to three places now instead of the six places of Saturday. But it was the big result of the day, Stoke beat [former] league leaders Cardiff City 3 – 0 at the Britannia Stadium, and Preston’s 1 – 1 with Coventry demoted Cardiff to second, one point behind Preston. The next match for Argyle will be tough, Birmingham away at St Andrews, Birmingham beating Argyle 0 – 1 at Home Park just a few weeks ago, hopefully the Pilgrims can return the favour by beating the Blues by the same margin!
