…Engineering my first gig with the new soundsystem at Voodoo and I have to give it the big thumbs up, it has more power than I can actually use. The bands weren’t half bad either, Divider, Redemption Unnamed, and The Southpaw Jinx. The big shout out goes to The Southpaw Jinx who rocked the place, even if there wasn’t that many people there, but I can wholeheartedly say everyone loved it, including me. I didn’t have much to do, I didn’t see much point in sitting in the engineers booth, so I decided to join the rest of select few in front of stage enjoying the show. Highlight of their set is their excellent version of Free Bird. The new PA makes things so much easier, the amount of overhead at my disposal was astonishing, something that I never had at the Phoenix, I was always pushing the amps to the limit, but that’s a thing of the past now. Also tonight I got a call from Taz from Loud Arts Promotions asking me to come down to the gig on Thursday in the Hub to take some photo’s of the bands playing to go with an interview that Loud Arts are doing for the gig. It’s a biggie, £9.50 on the door, and I will get in for free, and have a few beers thrown in for good measure. Seems that I am Mr. Popular at the moment; and I have to say I am enjoying it!
