Let’s start with the good, Plymouth Argyle have won their third game on the trot beating Coventry 3 – 2 at Home Park, although the scoreline flatters Coventry really, it was sloppy defending that gifted The Sky Blues that scoreline. Barry Hayles determination set up the first goal for Argyle newbie Kevin Gallen who just had to tap the ball into the net. It was then Argyle’s turn for some sloppy defending to let Chris Birchall through for the simplest of tap ins. Akos Buzsaky restored Plymouth’s lead ten minutes later with an excellent driving low shot to defeat Luke Steele for the second time. Then just after the half time break was the best goal of the game, it’s that man again; creator of the first goal Barry Hayles struck again with a curling shot (that David Beckham would have been proud of) from just outside the 18 yard box to make it 3 – 1 to the Pilgrims. Coventry pulled a goal back in the 70th minute off the head of Michael Mifsud, but Plymouth’s defence was too strong for Coventry’s strikers to break down. So a well deserved win for the Green Army, which puts us just five points off arch nemesis Stoke City and a play off place. But the next game will be tough away at The Hawthorns against 4th placed West Brom, but I certainly feel that The Pilgrims can win there, especially with Gallen on board and of course Barry Hayles who has scored four goals in four games for Plymouth, you’d have to say he was signing of the season for Argyle!
Now we come to the bad, England’s cricket team have slumped to a new low down under being beaten by 90 runs by New Zealand. It was a complete and utterly disgraceful batting collapse getting bowled out for 120 runs. Only three of the eleven players managed to get into double figures with the bat, and only one of them, Ed Joyce made it past twenty to top score with 47 runs. It wasn’t even like England had a big total to beat, only 211 runs were required after a decent bowling display from the English with Flintoff claiming 4 wickets for 21 runs. I have no idea of what is going on in the England camp; I know that England have had injury problems, but that’s no excuse; is the standard of English cricket that bad that we play this badly, we invented the damn sport for fucks sake; fire everyone and start again!!!
And the OH YEAH, the cyber-dating has been going really well, spent all night last night talking to her online, and we found a lot more about each other, when I say ‘a lot more’ I mean it, I am not going to go into what was said on here and I am not going to say who she is just yet, but she certainly makes me happy, how often do I leave Voodoo early to come home? not very often is the answer; normally I stick around until about 3am. But the woman in question makes me feel like I have something to come home to, despite being on the other side of the Atlantic. Next step should be cybersex… we have had four cyber-dates now, so that’s the next logical step, although I am a little worried about electric shocks… don’t fancy the idea of the idea of 230v going through that delicate area… I’m joking of course, I am not that sad; and I am definately not a masochist, although she does like to have her hair pulled during sex, so would that make me a sadist; I’ll stop there I think!!!
Final thing I have to say is this lyric that I heard last week and last night at Voodoo Lounge Open Mic night. “My girlfriend has glasses so thick that when she reads maps, she can see people waving.” – what a fantastic line, that’s pure comedy genius, for all the shit that happens on open mic night, it’s those little things that makes all the effort worthwhile!
