It’s a win, but it’s still disappointing!

England won their second World Cup match against Canada but the win was less than convincing considering that Canada are not even ranked in the ICC rankings and England are ranked #7 in the world. England knocked up 279 – 6 in their 50 overs. Ed Joyce top scored with 66, followed by the ever dependable Paul Collingwood hitting 62 runs and Michael Vaughan knocked up 45 runs. Kevin Pietersen had a disappointing game hitting the ball straight back at Dhaniram to be caught and bowled on a lowly score of four. After England’s mini collapse, Ravi Bopara and Paul Nixon steadied the ship with Nixon knocking up a stunning 23 runs off 8 deliveries, that’s the sort of performance you’d expect from one of your openers. England eventually won the game by 51 runs restricting Canada to 228 in their 50 overs with Liam Plunkett and Ravi Bopara claiming two wickets each and Monty Panesar and James Anderson claimed a wicket a piece. It’s safe to say that England need to step up their game if they are to have any hope of doing anything in this world cup. The next fixture for England are Kenya who again are a lot lower ranked team, but it could easily be a banana skin for England, it’s a must win game to go through to the knock out stages, for which England will need to be on top form, no second chances in the knock out stages.

Work has been pretty ordinary, nothing of note has happened, but it’s always nice to hear that people appreciate the work and effort that you put into getting bands sounding good, so cheers to Heretic and Death of Lola Rose for their comments about my sound! Personally I thought it didn’t sound the best it could have done, but there’s a limit of what I can do with a room with 25 people in it and lots of shiny reflective surfaces, so that considered it sounded adequate! There’s lots of other little things on my mind as well at the moment, but I need to make sense of those things in my own head before I post it on here, but if you’re a regular reader then you’ll probably guess what it’s about, I am nothing but predictable!
