Despite supposedly having a break from each other, I find a message from Lindsey waiting for me on Yahoo when I got home from JFK’s. So I ended up talking with her for 2 1/2 hours until 6am in the morning. I think that we have sorted some of the issues out, but it still bothers me that she won’t talk to me about her problems, it can’t be good for her to bottle things up. I’ll just have to give her time to think about her problems and just be here if she wants to talk about them; I can’t force her to talk to me about it, she is a very strong minded and stubborn person. It’s such a difficult situation really, me being in the UK and Lindsey being in the US, it’s not exactly conducive to a successful relationship. It would be so easy to just cut my losses and walk away, but I know that in my heart I couldn’t do that. If my head ruled I wouldn’t even be in that position, I wouldn’t of allowed it to happen, it would be a friends only relationship. But my heart had to get involved and all logic went flying out of the window. So I just need to see what happens next, and hope that Lindsey feels that she can open up to me. In many ways she has been keeping me at arms length, not really letting me into her psyche, which is something that I can understand being much the same myself, but I feel like I want to talk to her about my problems, it’s nice to come home and for her to ask how my day was; so I can talk to someone about my frustrations with work and stuff!
Enough of this relationship stuff, it’s time for football and today was the day that Judas made his first return to Home Park since dumping the Pilgrims over the summer. Sadly for the Green Army it was a mirror result from earlier in the year when Argyle paid a visit to The Britannia Stadium back in August. Plymouth took the lead five minutes before half time from the penalty spot after Carl Hoefkens brought down Peter Halmosi in the 18 yard box. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake made no mistake powering his shot in to the top centre of the Stoke net. Stoke equalised 10 minutes after the restart when Darel Russell latched onto John Eustace pass to power home from six yards out. Both teams went close to taking the lead in the second half, but both goalkeepers were equal to the task. On balance a 1 – 1 result was a fair scoreline, both teams played well, it would have been nice to get one over on Pulis, but sadly it wasn’t to be. It does show how much Argyle are missing skipper Paul Wotton in the middle of the park, he seems to have some magical inspirational powers. This result means that Argyle remain in 12th, one point behind Crystal Palace and six points behind Stoke City. The chance of a play-off place has almost gone, now 14 points behind 6th placed Southhampton, if the Green Army remain in 12th, that’ll be their highest league finish ever beating last year by one place, but it would be nice to move into the top third of the table!
It’s official, sort of; alcohol is good for you; over the past few days I have been feeling really lethargic, sneezing and coughing all the time, coughing so hard that I end up bringing up stomach acids, not a pleasant experience! But last night I went out firstly to Voodoo Lounge, then off to JFK’s and I felt fine after drinking a few beers. I did feel like hell this morning, a combination of hangover and illness, but after just chilling out for a few hours in bed, I actually felt much better; seems that the alcohol has killed off the germs.
