Today has been a good day, I met up with the woman, Teri that I mentioned yesterday and things went very well, although I knew yesterday when I talked to her on the phone for an hour that we’d get on well. It was rather nice to do something different, something normal instead of frequenting drinking establishments. It was nice to sit down and drink coffee and chat about stuff. We are very alike in many ways and have many of the same issues with people and life. It’s nice to be able to just have a chat as friends, there is no spark between us at all for anything more than friendship, but I enjoy her company and she enjoys my company. We are going to meet up again tomorrow which will be nice. It’s odd with the exception of Ali I haven’t met anyone in ‘the real world’ that I have met online, I have suggested it to some people, but they simply didn’t want to know, oh well their loss I guess! So this is a whole new experience for me, but with both myself and Teri it’s easier, we are both 30+ and meeting people in person seems a little easier, nothing ventured, nothing gained and today because we both took the risk, we both gained a new friend today!
Things are looking good for England in the cricket too, bowling the West Indies for out 222 runs, which set a target of 110 for England to chase. Monty Panesar took another 5 wicket haul, taking 4 – 46 in the 2nd innings taking the vital wicket of Shiv Chanderpaul to end the West Indies second innings. At tea, England are currently sitting on 24 – 1 still needing 86 runs from just over two hours play. So this test match has been reduced to a one day innings to win the match after the first day was washed out. Alastair Cook was the English wicket to fall on 7 runs edging Powell’s delivery to Dwayne Bravo in the slips. England are the favourites to take the victory only needing 86 runs from some 40 overs remaining, but a win, lose or draw will suit England as they already have a 2 – 0 lead in the series.
