After my distress of having my overdraft withdrawn without notice on Sunday morning, I have been bailed out by my dad yet again, and I am not happy about it but it’s a necessary evil. He gave me £500 to make up the shortfall in rent, clear my debt to the bank and put me £160 in the black. Now I have to build on that and get further into the black which means a massive reduction in drinking. I don’t want to be put in this situation, I hate asking for help from people, infact I didn’t even ask, my dad could sense that something was wrong when I went over for Sunday Roast. I am still pissed off with the bank, but at least I don’t owe them any money now and can transfer my account whenever I want, I was tempted to do it today, but decided its more hassle than it’s worth at this time. I don’t want to fuck this one up, my dad won’t be around forever to bail me out, this has given me a wake up call, drinking my money away is totally stupid and if I am honest I don’t get anything out of it, so I am going to get Sky TV installed, then I wont get bored so easily go out on the piss!
Ferrari have turned the tables on McLaren with a resounding 1 – 2 finish in the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours on Sunday. Kimi Raikkonen eventually edged out team mate Felipe Massa by 2.4 seconds as the duo crossed the finish line. Massa looked like he was going to take victory from pole position, but traffic in his last stint scuppered the Brazilian’s plans and Raikkonen took full advantage. Lewis Hamilton finished on the podium for the 8th consecutive time while team mate Fernando Alonso could only manage 7th place after starting from 10th after a gearbox failure in qualifying 3 on Saturday. This means Hamilton has extended his world championship lead to 14 points over the Spaniard. Robert Kubica brought his BMW home in 4th in his first race back since his horrific crash in the Canadian Grand Prix. Nick Heidfeld brought the sister BMW home in 5th seven seconds astray of Kubica. Giancarlo Fisichella completed the race in 6th place four seconds ahead of the hard charging Fernando Alonso. Jenson Button claimed the first points of the season for Honda finishing in 8th just 2.3 seconds behind Alonso. Let’s hope this will be a change of fortune for the Briton and Honda after their highly disappointing start to their season. Next week is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, I’ll be hoping for a home win for Lewis Hamilton, but it will be tough for the Woking based squad to take the win given Ferrari’s new found pace.
In Cricket, England took a 79 run victory in the first of three one day internationals against the West Indies. The Windies won the toss and elected to put England into bat and the English found it hard going in the opening 25 overs being restricted to less than a run a ball and then lost their last 6 wickets for 12 runs posting a total of 225 all out in 49.5 overs. The West Indies had an even worse start with four wickets falling for just 10 runs off 4.5 overs. It was Windies stalwart Shiv Chanderpaul that steadied the ship with an unbeaten 53. Dwayne Bravo made 29 from 34 deliveries before Ramdin, Smith and Powell fell for 7 runs combined. There was a late stand between Chanderpaul and Rampaul but the England attack were too strong for the Windies, Chanderpaul eventually ran out of partners being bowled out in 39.5 overs 79 runs short of the target England set for the tourists. This win puts England in command leaving The West Indies needing to win the final two one day games which is looking unlikely given the form of the West Indian squad in this tour!
