Will this feeling ever go away?

Because I have been skint and been let down on a number of gigs the past month I have been spending more time at home which has given me time to dwell on life. The thing has pops into my mind most often is Ali and the way I feel about her. I have tried to forget her and move on, but it’s not happening, there are little things I find in my room that remind me of her and bring back all those feelings I have for her. It can be something as small as a strand of her hair or a half full bottle of lemon Tango down between the bed and the wall. The last week I have found myself dreaming about her, waking up feeling happy; opening my eyes to find that she isn’t there. It makes me want to remain in permanent dream state, that’s the only time I feel happy. I thought I had deleted all contact information for Ali, but it seems I hadn’t, I found her number stored in Skype and I couldn’t bring myself to delete it, but thusfar I have resisted the temptation to call or text, not that she’ll answer, she seems to have moved on and forgotten me very quickly, which I simply can’t believe as for ages we were telling each other we loved each other, my feelings haven’t changed and I doubt they ever will. I am just going to try to deal with it the best I can, so more getting drunk then, actually I am not going to do that, it’ll just destroy me physically as well as mentally.

I have got the first report back from my spies at Alternation and it’s not looking good, apparently it wasn’t very busy, the atmosphere felt hostile and the music being played was lacking. A complete lack of what people wanted to hear unless it was one of the mainstream JFKs songs that was requested. Wednesday night’s needs to be more progressive, breaking new ground, playing stuff that won’t get played in JFKs, at least not until it has become popular. That’s why Mark Williams has been so successful at the Quay Club and before that Eclipse; he plays music before the mainstream clubs mixed in with old school rock and contemporary classics. There’s no point being a JFK’s clone, that’s doomed to fail, if you run a DJ night, you need to accept that you can’t take on big rock nights like Friday’s at JFKs. I still don’t want to be involved, it’s not worth it for me unless it’s made free entry and I get paid a percentage of the bar takings or a fixed fee. As I mentioned before I am not doing any work that isn’t guaranteed income, I am just burning myself out for nothing constantly!

Things are looking exceptionally bad for England in the second test against India at Trent Bridge. The tourists took command on the third day with five of the top six batsmen making half centuries. Sachin Tendulkar notched up 91 runs before being caught by a dubious LBW decision, but he was lucky to escape an earlier appeal for LBW, which Hawkeye shows was definitely hitting leg stump, so you have to say that was justice. Sourav Ganguly survived 156 balls to post a total of 79 before edging James Anderson’s delivery to Matt Prior. Monty Panesar finished the innings with figures of 4 wickets for 101 runs claiming the wickets of Karthik, Dravid and tail enders Singh and Sreesanth. Chris Tremlett claimed 3 wickets for 80 runs claiming the wickets of Jaffer, Laxman and Kumble. Sidebottom, Anderson and Collingwood all claimed a wicket a piece with Paul Collingwood claiming the prize wicket of Tendulkar. England found themselves 283 runs behind as they started their second innings and at the end of the days play were 43 for no loss with Andrew Strauss on 21 and Alistair Cook on 17. England have a serious uphill battle to get any sort of result from this match, a win is seriously unlikely. England will need to bat their way through almost two days still needing 240 runs just to equal India’s first innings total. Then they need to build a lead of 150 – 200 to give the tourists something to bat at and hope that the English bowlers can do the business as I doubt that rain is coming to the rescue of England like it did India at Lords. I am not hopeful to be honest judging by England’s atrocious first innings performance, but hopefully the English bulldog spirit will prevail and manage to get a result out of this game.

Finally, some quick random stuff; firstly my bank has decided to charge me a fee for being overdrawn despite being £142 in the black, so I will be having words with my bank when I deposit the £170 to cover the rent on Wednesday. Sky still haven’t refunded the £30 that they owe me for the installation that never happened. The tumble dryer in the house has stopped working, the drum turns but there’s no heat, so I have a bag of wet clothes and no money to pay a visit to the laundrette to dry it and I have one pair of jeans and a couple of shirts to wear. I would hang the washing out on the line, but I have no pegs to hang the clothes. I will need to have a word with the landlord when I see him on Wednesday. That woman from Myspace that kept on trying to get me to contact her via Email never got back to me after I made it clear that I am not going to give out my personal contact information just yet, much as I expected really, it screamed scam to me as soon as I read it.
