In Formula One, McLaren have been thrown out as a constructor in this years world championship, but Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton will retain their points. The net result means that Ferrari are constructors champions elect. My feelings on the situation is that Ferrari knew that they couldn’t beat McLaren fair and square so resorted to getting the Woking based team thrown out of the championship, but the WMSC saw sense and didn’t strip the McLaren drivers of their points and didn’t exclude McLaren from next season, that would have been disastrous for the whole of Formula One. The irony is that the new evidence came from McLaren team principle Ron Dennis; reporting to the FIA that emails had been sent between Fernando Alonso, test driver Pedro De La Rosa and Mike Coughlan concerning the illegally obtained Ferrari technical information. So it looks like McLaren as an organisation wasn’t involved, it was certain personnel within the team that were acting without the consent of McLaren. My opinion of Fernando Alonso has just fallen through the floor based on what I just read. Obviously he was party to the whole illegal information exchange and allegedly threatened Ron Dennis with handing over damaging information to the FIA. If he did that to me, I would have sacked his Spanish arse for not being a team player, if this did happen, it shows that Alonso tried to blackmail Dennis and the McLaren team to get his own way within the team, e.g. Clear #1 status within the team! McLaren have been relegated to the second row in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix after Ferrari locked out the front row with Kimi Raikkonen edging out Felipe Massa. Fernando Alonso will start ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Nico Rosberg has out qualified the BMW of Nick Heidfeld, the first time a Williams has out qualified the BMWs this season, although inherited 5th because Robert Kubica was demoted to 15th after an engine change. Mark Webber did well to put his Red Bull on the fourth row just ahead of Toyota’s Jarno Trulli. Not good reading for the other Brits qualifying in 12th (Coulthard), 13th (Button) and 21st (Davidson). McLaren will be going all out to prove they are the better team after being hit with losing all their constructor points and being fined $100 million dollars.
In other random stuff, it looks like I will be working tonight after, but as far as I can see, it’s only going to be one band unless Phil has found some other bands at the last moment, so that’s good news for me as I get paid, but not so good news for Phil as the night will be free entry. I think things need to change when it comes to private bookings, all promoters need to paid 50% of the hire fee up front that is non-refundable, which will make promoters think twice before pulling out at the last moment. I got to see Erin on webcam for the first time last night and she looks as good in real time despite not wearing any make-up, but I prefer women to be make-up free, I think that she has natural beauty and doesn’t need make-up. I’m looking forward to the next time I can see her on webcam and get her microphone working, so we can videoconference properly. I’m going to resist the temptation to call her this weekend, I don’t want to disturb her studies as she has been neglecting her studies to talk with me, and I love talking with her, but she needs to study so I will not disturb her unless she wants to talk with me, I always want to talk with her so I wont have any hesitation in answering the phone to her. It’s going to take a lot of willpower to not call her, We have talked every night for for 10 days now, I will be getting withdrawal symptoms.
