I think Ian Holloway was a better manager at this level for Argyle. He may have betrayed the Argyle fans after pledging his future to the club but his signings were inspired. Paul Sturrock on the other hand; with the exception of Jamie Mackie who is one for the future has systematically sold of all his key players and signed a bunch of Scots that can’t cut it in the Championship. Now we have just sold our star midfielder, Peter Halmosi to Hull for two million (cheap at double the price in my opinion). Jimmy Abdou has also gone because Sturrock wouldn’t up his offer to keep him at Home Park. Now that Halmosi has gone, how long will it be before fellow Hungarian Kristian Timar follows suit? One signing that may pay off is is former Arsenal and Reading keeper Graham Stack, but as yet no deal has been confirmed but he has been training with the Argyle squad. But when you look at how many players have gone and how many have come in, we may well be playing half our youth squad at this rate after the mass departures in the last three months. Things aren’t looking good for Argyle this season and just to piss the fans off a little more, ticket prices have gone up so the chances of me going to games more often is unlikely at best. Sturrock and the board want more people to come to home games, well gentlemen increasing ticket prices isn’t the way to do it. I can see gates being sub 10,000 this season with the lack of depth in the squad and the price increases. It really makes me wonder whether Sturrock really should have stayed in League One as he seems to be clueless in the championship. I think we’ll be lucky to finish in the top half, let alone pushing for a play-off place. I would love to be proved wrong though, I’ll be the first to eat my words if Luggy’s signings do the business.
I managed to trace Erin’s phone number at a cost of 10 pounds for a duplicate phone bill and texted her saying how much I miss her and asking if she wanted to start talking again. Take things slower this time and make sure we meet before even considering a relationship. I got no reply to my messages so I can only assume that she has no interest in trying to rescue our dream of being together here in the UK. If she really wants to run and hide then I can’t do anything about it no matter how much I want Erin back in my life. I can’t see myself meeting anyone that remotely compares to Erin, no-one has done it for me, intellectually, emotionally and physically before and I miss having that feeling she gives me when I can see her face and hear her voice. I just sent a text today saying that I am not going anywhere, text or call me when/if she feels ready to do so. And for the time being I will just have to get on with my life the best way I can, getting drunk several times each week then!
I have made no secret my preference towards ‘fuller figured women’ when looking for a partner. So the news that size 16 teenager Chloe has made it into the Miss England final made me very happy. Her vitals are 5″10′, 36E-33-42, for so many years girls that weren’t the perfect size 4 didn’t make it because of what magazines portray as being beautiful. The average size in the UK is a curvy size 16 for fuck sake, the media should be held more accountable for making girls that are perfectly healthy and attractive feel like they are fat and ugly. I really hope that Chloe wins the competition to prove that you don’t have to starve yourself to be beautiful! But this isn’t the perfect world so some thin girl will win!
