Pack of cards!

That’s the best way to describe the English cricket team in the second test against South Africa at Headingley. The Proteas won the toss and elected to put England into bat and that decision paid off as all 10 English wickets fell in just over 52 overs. Kevin Pietersen was top scorer for England and that was less than spectacular only making 45 before being caught. Michael Vaughan went for a duck, Ian Bell made 31 and Andrew Strauss 27. So South Africa only had to beat 203 to take a first innings lead and as I write this, The Proteas have cruised past that total and added a further 76 runs for the loss of four wickets. So England have a massive up hill battle to salvage something from this game as I can see South Africa posting a score well in excess of 400 in the first innings. If that does happen England will need to overhaul a 200 run deficit before they can even start to build a lead for South Africa to attack. I hope that we don’t lose by an innings, that would be exceptionally embarrassing. Let’s hope Andrew Flintoff can do something with the ball as he did bugger all with the bat in his first test innings back after more than a year and half out, but there’s still 3 days left!

On Thursday night I went out to the Warehouse for the rock night and that was pretty uneventful. But I came home and called Erin which I really shouldn’t have done, drunk and emotional; not a good combination. That call probably did more harm than good as Erin doesn’t like me when I get drunk although I am a different drunk when I am happy which I am not at the time. Basically I sent a text last night saying to her take as much time as she needs to make a decision about whether she wants to start talking again. I just want to be friends for the time being as I don’t need the added stress of a long distance relationship at this time. I am not going to push it anymore, if Erin wants to talk to me, she will… as much as I want to still have our life together I can’t be tied to that hope as it may never happen!
