Feeling Better!

Yesterday is a day I want to forget as soon as possible but I have learned a valuable lesson, one that I should have learned a long time ago really. Never trust or rely on anyone as it allowed them to have unprecedented power over your life. From now on I am not going to allow myself to get into a position where I am not in control of my own destiny even if it costs me more financially. I will have to stay at my dad’s place for a little while which I can do now as I misunderstood the dates that Gloria and John would be there. During this time I will save money, pay off debts and build a good financial platform to attack life again. Maybe my future isn’t in the UK at all, if I find that I like it in the US, there is a possibility that I could regain my qualifications to allow me to be an IT trainer in the US as I really enjoyed doing that job, in fact it was the most rewarding job I have ever done. Even the person that was assessing me when I gained my trainer qualifications said I was a natural when it comes to teaching people. But for the time-being I will probably look into working at the MDEC to earn cash quickly as working nights pays very good money and will allow me to clear my debts and save rapidly. Of course if I do work nights at the MDEC then that will mean that talking with Erin will be strictly limited but I have to do what is necessary. But saying that I may get the 2pm to 10pm shift which doesn’t pay as much but will allow for me to talk with Erin for a couple of hours per night! Before any of this I intend to go to the US and spend two weeks with Erin and Conner then I will decide on my future plans when I have a clearer idea of which side of the Atlantic my destiny belongs.

Time for some sports stuff starting with England’s performance at Wembley against Kazakhstan on Saturday. The news is good from Wembley beating the visitors 5 – 1. Although the Kazakhs made it hard work for England in the first half doggedly defending to deny the home side any clear cut opportunities. Fabio Capello changed his formation at half time replacing Gareth Barry with Shaun Wright-Phillips to revert back to the familiar 4-4-2 formation. Suddenly England looked like they had some purpose with stand in captain Rio Ferdinand finding the back of the net in the 52nd minute to open the scoring. England found themselves 2 – 0 up when Alexandr Kuchma mistimed his attempted clearance helping Lampard’s free kick into the back of the net in the 65th minute. Kazakhstan did pull one back three minute later after a defensive mistake by Ashley Cole. But what happened next was ridiculous to say the least, Cole did make a mistake but the treatment he got from certain so called ‘fans’ was disgraceful, booing the Chelsea player every time he had possession. Wayne Rooney then made it 3 – 1 heading Wes Brown’s cross goal bound in the 77th minute. Rooney found the target again in the 86th minute slotting David Beckham’s cross past the tiring Kazakh keeper. Jermain Defoe sealed the win four minutes after replacing Rooney to make it 5 – 1. The result really flattered the English if we are being honest but it’s 3 wins out of three which England haven’t done in a qualifying tournament since 1998. The next match will be more of a test for Capello’s men as they travel to Belarus on Wednesday but I still have high hopes for a win. Which will set a new record for England as the English national side have never won four out of four in a qualifying tournament before.

Fernando Alonso benefitted from title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa’s collision to take his second successive Grand Prix in Japan. Hamilton messed it up in the first corner going wide allowing Massa to pass and in Hamilton’s haste to retake the place made a rash move and the two collided and both were given penalties for their tangle. Massa managed to recover to 8th and was later promoted to 7th after Sebastien Bourdais was penalised for a collision with Massa. Hamilton could only manage a lowly 12th after the colision with Massa had damaged his car affecting his MP4-23’s handling. Massa has closed the gap on Hamilton to five points but almost invisibly Pole Robert Kubica is still in the hunt closing the gap to Hamilton down to 12 points. With Hamilton seeemingly self destructing like last year and Massa’s inconsistentcy, Kubica is in with a realistic shout as he is probably the most consistent driver of the season. Hopefully Hamilton will regain his composure and become the first Englishman to win the world drivers championship since Damon Hill in 1996. All he needs to do is finish second in the next two races to become world champion regardless of other results. It’s basically Lewis Hamilton’s championship to lose at this stage, I think that the jury is still out on whether he has what it takes to become world champions at this time, the next few weeks will tell the tale!

As regular readers will surely have noticed I have updated the site design after 5 years, yes that’s right this blog is 5 years old, actually it’s five years and 5 days, but who’s counting? I have re-enabled comments on this site after disabling them many years ago because of spamming bastards. And within 48 hours of this new design going live I have been getting numerous spam messages so I have added a little security to the site. I am using Captcha code to try to weed out the bots that spam comments across the net. I know that’s annoying for genuine commenter’s but it’s a necessary evil I’m afraid, I don’t want to spend my days deleting spam comments!
