Smooth!

Things have been a lot smoother between myself and Erin the last few days, infact I would say things have been better. It comes down to my frustrations, not being able to work, being stuck in this apartment complex most days of the week.  I hope that Conam (the Buttonwood Tree management company) hurry up and decide whether they want me to design these websites for them or not. Being able to earn some money and contribute to the household income will lessen my frustrations. I know that someone else is vying for those contracts as he came into the Buttonwood Tree leasing office inquiring about the work a while back. I have asked my dad to ship over my laptop from the UK, we really need two laptops here as Erin needs the computer for her studies. Not only that, having my laptop here will help with lessening my frustrations as well. I really don’t have anything here at all except for my clothes, so having my laptop here will make it feel a little more like home as I have something (electronic) of my own here.

Now for some irony, Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup in the 4th round by Merseyside rivals Everton last night but a single goal at the death of extra time. Why the irony you ask, it was  scored by substitute Dan Gosling who Plymouth Argyle sold to Everton for £1.75m in January 2008, especially now that Argyle need decent goal scoring talent. So a former player for my first choice team knocked out my second choice team from the FA cup. But even worse news is that Steven Gerrard will be out for upto 3 weeks after limping off the field with a hamstring injury after 15 minutes. That’s almost a bigger blow to Liverpool than exiting the FA Cup as the season heads towards it’s climax in May. As much of a goal scoring genius Fernando Torres is; Steven Gerrard is the keystone of the Liverpool setup holding everything together, the Reds don’t seem the same when Gerrard isn’t on the field. The good thing to come out of this is that Liverpool can now concentrate more on league games without the distraction of the FA Cup, although they are still in Benitez’ favoured competition, the European Champions League.

Plymouth Argyle managed to claim another away point from Deepdale on Tuesday evening. The Pilgrims have Romain Larrieu who made a series of spectacular saves that denied the home side to thank for their point.  Jamie Mackie gave Argyle a  surprise lead in the 13th minute with a fortunate deflection off Youl Mawene that sent the ball into Mackie’s path. David McNamee was stretchered off after 30 minutes with a broken cheekbone will need to see a surgeon about his facial injury so could be out for a while. Jon Parkin scored the equaliser in 43rd minute in a perfect set piece manoeuvre. Paul Gallagher had his shot tipped over the crossbar and Larrieu made a series of excellent saves in the closing minutes to earn Argyle a point from Deepdale. Plymouth remain in 16th place but move five points clear of the relegation zone. What is it with Argyle players and get in trouble with the law? Shane White who came through the youth ranks at Argyle had his first year professional contract terminated by mutual consent after being charged with drink driving after a night out at the Barbican Leisure Complex.
