I’ve just read this article on the BBC News website about a teacher that posed for some racy shots in a thong for a modelling website. The teacher in question Miss Natasha Gray faces disciplinary action from Manor Community College after the headmaster found (or became aware of [as the article states]) the offending photographs imodel.com. My issue is that why should a school or any employer for that matter have a say in what you can and can’t do outside of work hours. It’s Bill Clinton getting a blowjob all over again. Who gives a fuck what people do in their private lives as long as it’s not illegal or immoral. Apparently the complaint come from a “concerned” parent who found out about these photos from their child. Really these photo’s aren’t anything you don’t see on a beach, are British people really that stiff? (maybe a bad choice of word) that they find it necessary to complain about a slightly racy photograph of a teacher. Miss Gray has been suspended from work pending disciplinary action. Where does it stop? should employers have the right to control what employees can do outside of work? I say NO as long as it doesn’t affect their work, which this really doesn’t in my opinion.
While searching out Miss Gray’s photos to see what all the fuss is about I also came across this article on the Sun Newspaper website. A man is on his way to divorce court after being caught at another woman’s house when he was supposedly away on business. His wife was using Google maps which now features street views from 25 UK cities to spy on a female friends home. The wife immediately recognised his Range Rover because of it’s blinged up wheels, prompting her to call in her lawyers. But my question is this; many countries have rules prohibiting the taking of photographs unless they have prior permission to feature the subject. So by definition, Google’s street view service is illegal as it takes photos of thousands, maybe millions of people on a regular basis. Several photos have been removed from Google maps since it’s launch in the UK eleven days ago. These photo’s include a man leaving a sex shop, a worker having a sneaky cigarette in front of a no smoking sign and a fleet of UFO’s have been spotted hovering over London!!!
