Today hasn’t exactly been a good way to spend Erin’s 31st birthday. We spent more than six hours sat in the hospital after Erin woke up with some bad things (when your pregnant) happening to her body; without going into details. So we started to fear that Erin was in the process of having a miscarriage. But after several hours we find out that everything is fine apart from a few minor issues in that area; again not going into detail. I was sat in the waiting room with Conner for hours without anyone letting me know what was happening so I am starting to think that our worst nightmare had come true. But thankfully the baby is absolutely fine, nothing unusual at this point and it was confirmed that Erin is five weeks pregnant. We planned to go out and do something as a family and today would have been a great day to have done it as it was warm and dry. But Erin’s health and the health of the baby is more important obviously. Hopefully Sunday will be another good day so we can do something during the day.
As the domestic football season restarts after the international break; both my football interests won their respective games. Plymouth Argyle narrowly beat fellow strugglers Blackpool, Gary Sawyer was hero of the day with his 86th minute headed goal. The Pilgrims climb back upto 19th in the league but are still far from safety this season. Next Saturday Plymouth host Coventry at Home Park which will be a tough game and Argyle’s home form isn’t exactly good! Liverpool moved to the top of the Premiership overnight after beating Fulham 0 – 1 at Craven Cottage. Yossi Benayoun scored the winner two minutes into second half added time much to the relief of Rafa Benitez and the travelling scousers. Manchester United host Aston Villa at Old Trafford tomorrow and also have a game in hand. Manchester United are still favourites to take the Premiership but they may have another wobble allowing Liverpool to seize the advantage!
In Formula 1 Jenson Button claimed his second pole position of the season for Brawn GP proving that Brawn’s form in Australia wasn’t a fluke. Jenson’s team mate Rubens Barrichello will start from 8th spot after taking a four place penalty for a change of gearbox. Sebastian Vettel qualified in 3rd spot but will start the race in 13th after taking his 10 place penalty for his collision with Robert Kubica in Australia. Jarno Trulli continued his good form for Toyota qualifying in 2nd spot just 1/10th of a second behind Jenson Button. Kimi Raikkonen in his Ferrari was the highest qualifier of last years big hitters in 9th but will start in 7th due to Vettel and Barrichello’s grid penalties. While under fire McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen qualified in 13th and 14th respectively but Hamilton will start in 12th because of Vettel’s 10 place drop down the grid. So listen to this for a starting line up, Brawn, Toyota, Toyota, Williams, Red Bull, BMW, Ferrari, Brawn, talk about turning the grid on it’s head! My interest in F1 has been rejuvenated this season due to the rules shake-up, exciting times ahead!
