Just days after Renault were given a two year suspended ban, it’s a case of deja vu as the #2 Renault driver crashes at turn 17 in Singapore free practice. Are we on for a another Fernando Alonso win, is this history repeating? If Alonso wins and Grosjean crashes, will Renault be hit by the two year ban immediately? I’m not saying that is the case but you have to laugh at the irony of the situation. At least you would hope that Renault wouldn’t be stupid enough to try the same stunt again? Otherwise Bob Bell could be the shortest lived team principle in the history of Formula 1. Since my last report of Renault’s shenanigans it has come to light that a Renault employee named as “Witness X” was responsible for bringing down Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds. There are rumours that “Witness X” is Bob Bell and some even believe that “Witness X” is Fernando Alonso. I don’t believe it’s the Spaniard as he was already named in the inquiry and absolved of any blame. Although I don’t believe that Alonso is innocent, I believe he knew about the plot even if he wasn’t directly involved, which makes him guilty in my book. To compound Renault’s problems, two sponsors end their association with the French team in the light of Renault being found guilty of race fixing allegations. Title sponsor ING has withdrawn their sponsorship with immediate effect, the R29 now sports two Renault logos instead of the Dutch banks logo. Spanish insurance company Mutua Madrilena has also pulled sponsorship from Renault, expect to see them sponsor Ferrari next season when Alonso puts on the red race suit. Despite Renault’s assurance that they are committed to Formula 1 next season; This latest blow will fuel rumours about Renault’s future in F1 especially with the car market being so slow!
There really is nothing to report from my life in Kansas. Married life is still going well, I’m a little frustrated with my step-son Conner as he has been soiling his underwear and awful lot recently and we can’t figure out why. We have tried punishment, taking away his favourite toys, ban on using computers and no TV, none of that seems to work. So we are trying a reward and punishment system now, he gets one Hot Wheel back per day he doesn’t soil himself and gets them taken away again if he does soil himself. Right now he is back to having no Hot Wheels because he pooped in his pants again yesterday. I am trying to trust him but that trust has no reward as if we don’t force him to use the bathroom, he won’t go; it’s frustrating because he knows when he needs to go as he is potty trained and has been for some time but simply won’t go. We know he doesn’t like the sound of the flush as he puts his fingers in his ears and flushes with his elbow. Erin thinks that he puts his fingers in his ears when he is scared, I am unconvinced but lets go with that idea for now! My search for work as been frustrating as I have applied for well over 100 jobs and not heard back from one employer. That is hard to believe given that my skills base is very broad. Is it that they would rather not employ a non-citizen? Is it because they would have to call internationally to confirm my previous employment and references? I have the relevant skills and relevant qualifications, although not US qualifications but the equivalent in the UK! Cox Communications asked me for further information today so hopefully they were impressed by my resume I submitted yesterday. I have given up hope on the live chat software company that I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago. Last I heard was that I was being considered for another position in the company but no details has become apparent and there is a general lack of communication from the employment agency I have been working with! The office here in Wichita has been incredibly bad at keeping me in the loop, the woman in their head office in Florida has been in more contact than the person dealing with my case locally. Maybe it’s time to start looking at working in another state as I really don’t seem to be having much luck here in Kansas.
