As mentioned in yesterdays blog entry, we were unconvinced by the doctors diagnosis about Erin’s water not starting to break, claiming it was discharge, it seems we were right as Erin’s water broke in spectacular style last night, so off to the hospital we went in the middle of the night. Once we were in the hospital things moved very quickly, it only took 12 minutes from the time we arrived to the time we were in the operating room delivering the baby. Caesarean section was the only option as we knew baby Alya was very big and in breach (feet down) position. Everything went very smoothly although I felt like I was suffocating at times having to wear a mask. Baby Alya came out relatively easily although her BIG head did get a little stuck because of her position. Alya Elizabeth Lewis was born at 2:37am on the 23rd November weighing in at 9lbs 11oz. I really couldn’t be happier; mother and baby are doing great, I’m feeling tired now after being up all night and only managing to get a few hours sleep this morning, but today has been a wonderful day despite feeling so incredibly tired!
