Jenson Button Tours McLaren Factory!

Jenson Button has toured the McLaren factory in Woking, UK re-igniting the rumour that the Briton will partner Lewis Hamilton next season. Current team boss Ross Brawn has said that he is not willing to pay Jenson’s wage demands which are rumoured to be €8m, it is rumoured that Brawn GP are willing to pay €6m per year plus the ability for Jenson to negotiate his own sponsorship deals. I believe that Brawn’s offer is fair given that they rescued Button off the scrapheap at the beginning of the season and gave him a championship winning car. I have been a Jenson Button fan since he joined F1 in 2000 but he is losing favour with me after allegedly chasing the money rather than showing loyalty to the team that rescued his Formula 1 career. People will say he was loyal to Honda all those years but in reality it was the €10m salary which was slashed to €3m this year to secure his position on the 2009 grid, which is the best he could get at the time. I really hope that Jenson does the right thing and stays with Brawn for at least one more year as I believe he owes Ross Brawn that much for all he did for the Briton this year!

Nothing to report in football as it’s another international break and England have already qualified so I shall move straight onto my life in Kansas. I start my new job on Tuesday at 8am, well I start training for the job on Tuesday but I am paid to train so it’s like work! The orientation went well although the people who were starting at the same time as me seems to be very quiet; I’m the only one to ask any questions, apparently that’s the way Americans are; just sit there, keep your mouth shut and smile. They also gave me a health insurance pack for me to look through and for a family plan it would cost almost $600 per month which is extortionate to say to the least! And that’s not all I would also have to pay upto $5,000 of healthcare costs before I would be eligible to use the insurance. So we wont be taking up the offer of health insurance from the company.

And finally; on Friday afternoon Erin and I went to see a movie we had been waiting for since February, 2012 and for a 2 1/2 hour movie it kept us captivated the whole time. The movie has more than a nod to the bible with the whole FLOOD and ARK scenario; we were thinking it was going to be a space ship type rescue plan so the Ark idea was a surprise. And perfectly sensible for a biblical type flood because of giant tsunami caused by undersea earthquakes. Special effects were… well very special, the water effect is the best I have seen in a movie. So technically and plot-wise it was a fantastic movie; although I am a fan of disaster movies so I was always going to like this big budget blockbuster! 2012 was hyped up massively and it delivered in great style!
