Mission Accomplished: Job Aquired!

After going to the interview for the technical support position at Spherion/CCH I walked away with a provisional job offer pending background and drugs testing. The interview went incredibly well as the interviewer was a technical person himself so talking to him about things was much easier than it would have been if it was a non-technical HR person. But there has been an issue raised about verifying my certifications as they are oversees and I don’t have my certifications to hand. So I am a little worried about being turned down for the job because they can’t verify my qualifications as the company I did them with has gone out of business. I am still reasonably hopeful of landing the job despite this. If I do get the job I am looking at doing a whole bunch of online certifications, it’s $2000 for a whole year and I can do as many certifications as I want within that year, which will be easily verifiable for employers as the school will be US based!

Plymouth Argyle climbed out of the drop zone with their second win on the trott beating Doncaster Rovers 2 – 1 at Home Park on Saturday afternoon. As usual Plymouth scored first only to be pegged back by the opposition but thankfully Plymouth managed to regain the lead to record only their second home win this season. Alan Judge netted for the Pilgrims in the 26th minute converting Alan Gow’s cross, then Plymouth were caught napping allowing Dean Shiels a clear shot on goal to equalise minutes later. The game swung in Argyle’s favour when Martin Woods was sent off for a second bookable offence after half time. Rory Fallon secured the 3 points for Argyle in the 70th minutes with his shot finding the top left of the Doncaster net. So the Pilgrims climb out of the relegation zone and another win could see Sturrock’s men climb to mid-table obscurity.
