Former Plymouth Argyle manager; Ian Holloway, who left Home Park under acrimonious circumstances in 2007 for Leicester City has just took his new team Blackpool to the Premiership after beating Cardiff City 3 – 2 in the play-off final at Wembley despite scraping into the play-off places. Just 18 months earlier; Holloway took the club he left Plymouth for; Leicester City down to League One, that’s a huge change of fortunes for the Bristol born manager. This really adds insult to injury as the combination or Paul Sturrock and Paul Mariner has taken the Pilgrims down to League One. But never mind domestic football; it’s about time we started our preparations to be disappointed and heartbroken again as England embark on another World Cup campaign. The first game is against the USA which is kinda ironic given where I am living at this time. England has a reasonably easy group and should progress to the knock out stage with relative ease; but I take nothing for granted as England tend to make silly mistakes and end up narrowly missing out.
The following statement just about sums up America for me; “he is the sort of guy that would shoot you”. This statement came about when a certain person parked his car over the line of my parking space meaning I had very little room to get into my car; suggesting I could get shot if my car door touched his car despite that person parking over the line of my space when I am parked in the middle of the space; bearing in mind that spaces are huge here in the US; about 1.5ft either side of my Ford Focus. I could just about get into my car without hitting his door but if you can not park your car correctly between the lines of a more than ample space then you risk having your car damaged. This incident; of course relates to yesterday’s bad driver rant!
