England have crashed out of the cricket world cup losing by 10 wickets to Sri Lanka. It’s safe to say that Sri Lanka gave England a lesson is playing cricket with Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga both hitting centuries to overturn England’s target of 230 to win with more than 10 overs to spare. “England not good enough” says Andrew Strauss; no shit man, being defeated by 10 wickets is a massive embarrassment. The only saving grace is that Australia, South Africa and the West Indies all exited the world cup at the same stage. At this point I would put Sri Lanka on top to win this world cup; impressive performance from the Sri Lankans even if England were piss poor. I think changes need to happen in the England camp; a completely separate test and one day side; less games overall, seven one day games in Australia before a world cup tournament seems crazy to me. I’m not making excuses for England; they were poor for most of the tournament; being beaten by Ireland was a real low point in the history of English cricket. The bowlers have done fantastically while the batsmen have generally failed; the bowlers simply couldn’t get it down this time around; now we wait for the post mortem.
