Time for a catchup of events, been a little lax on the updating of the blog. Firstly, I have finally managed to sign up at Wichita Area Technical College to start my online GED preparation course. This has been a long drawn out process, I should have started this course, back in November but I was given the wrong start date, then missed the start date in January because of incorrect information, this time on their website and repeated requests for callbacks went unanswered, it seems to me that the woman at the front desk is either deliberately being uncooperative or incompetent, they should have been able to give me exact start dates, not just a ball park figure!!! Anyway I am now signed up and have paid my fees, I will start with the course tomorrow!
Also my wife has been sick for the last two weeks, losing out on more than 50hrs of wages, and that’s only because she has taken some sick time and some holiday time to make up 16 hours, but luckily this has happened at tax time so we have the money to cover those financial losses and we also received a percentage of Conner’s biological father’s tax return, which totaled almost $800.
The wife and I went to see “The Woman in Black” on Sunday afternoon, thanks to my mother-in-law taking the kids for a couple of hours, although it was a costly experience, $14 for two theater tickets and $37 for a meal for two in the diner. Although the meal was large, I ordered a burger and chili cheese fries, I didn’t realise that the burger came with fries, so I ended up with two huge plates of food, my wife got a chicken sandwich but they screwed up and put her toppings on my burger, my wife didn’t want to send it back because she feared they’d spit in her food
Cost and screw ups aside, the movie was very good, I was interested to see Daniel Radcliffe in something other than Harry Potter, I was never a fan of the franchise so I can’t say I was a fan of Radcliffe but the actor played the character of Arthur Kipps absolutely brilliantly, I was very impressed by his performance. My wife spent half the move with her eyes closed; as she really doesn’t like horror movies, so I was duly baffled why she choose to go see a horror movie.
Finally, football; Argyle’s game on Saturday game was postponed due to a frozen pitch and then drew 0 – 0 with Barnet on Tuesday. It’s another point that moves the Pilgrims out of the bottom two, but Argyle need to do more to assure football league survival this season. Rumours are rife that Luis Suarez will leave Liverpool in the summer after Kenny Dalglish and the Uruguayan striker were forced to apologise for the incidents at Old Trafford last week by the clubs American owners. I think he will end up leaving, the only question is; will he walk or will he be be pushed?
