Every time I visit a fast food restaurant or retail store in Wichita, Kansas and surrounding areas, I am astounded by the piss poor customer service I receive, so I am going to name and shame a few. A few months back, we went to Burger King at 11551 East Kellogg, Wichita, KS, they gave my wife the wrong sandwich then argued about it, my wife had to speak to the manager to get her sandwiched exchanged for the one she ordered. The response she should have got is; “I’m sorry about that, let me get you the right sandwich”, the customer is always right, even when their wrong!
Another case of poor customer service was at KFC at 1251 S Woodlawn Blvd, Wichita, KS. I went through the drive-thru, ordered my food, along with one Sprite and one Coca Cola, got to the window and paid for our food, but when we received the food, they gave us two Coca Cola’s instead of one cola and one Sprite as I ordered. Again instead of just accepting their mistake, they argued with me, basically calling me a liar and once they corrected my drinks order, it was almost thrown into my hand instead of handing it to me. Suffice to say I have not been back to that KFC since!
The Subway on 1660 S Webb Rd, Wichita, KS consistently gets our order incorrect when using the drive-thru and makes sloppy sandwiches which tend to fall apart, and on one occasion refused to give my wife the toppings she wanted because the member of staff believed it wouldn’t work on the sandwich she ordered! But in recent times, they have gotten much better, new ownership maybe? the last time we went, we ate in and my daughter dropped her sandwich after taking one bite, the staff made a new sandwich for my daughter for free, which is amazing customer service!
T-Mobile on 518 S Rock Rd, Wichita, KS lied to me to get a sale, they told me I was eligible for a $50 mail-in rebate off the price of the phone, but I find out months later from T-Mobile corporate that I was not eligible for the rebate because I didn’t take out the 2GB data plan which I would hardly use, the 200MB data plan is enough for my needs! Then when I added my wife to my account, the T-Mobile store at 3000 N Rock Rd, Wichita, KS, sold us a phone that was defective, we returned it and we tried several phones of the same model and they all had the same issue, so I wanted to swap it for a different model, which was more expensive but they wanted a $50 restocking fee for what is a defective device on top of paying the extra cost of a different phone!
And today, while looking for an apartment to rent, my wife went into the office at Cross Creek Apartments & Townhomes at 7750 E 32nd St N, Wichita, KS to enquire about a three bedroom apartment or townhome, the leasing agent didn’t introduce herself, and because they didn’t have anything to show us; she pretty much did nothing other than say the bare minimum of “we don’t have anything to show”, there was no suggestion of when something would be available to view, not even an offer of a brochure! A piss poor attitude from someone that is representing Midland Management, Inc, my wife applied for that job and they gave it to this miserable woman she met!
There has been a lot more experiences of poor customer service in the last four years but they are too numerous to write every one down, there is enough to write a novel of poor customer service!
